Hi. I'm Allen Michaels.
I’m Allen Michaels, a former United States Air Force Senior Pilot with a diverse aviation career spanning both fixed-wing and rotary aircraft. As a C-130 aircraft commander and a Search and Rescue helicopter pilot, I had the privilege of flying critical missions in some of the most challenging operational environments. In addition to my time in the cockpit, I also served as a Flight Examiner, where I evaluated and trained aircrews, ensuring they were prepared for the complex and high-stakes realities of military aviation.
Beyond my aviation career, I pursued a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, allowing me to explore the psychological resilience, trauma management, and leadership dynamics within military organizations. This combination of firsthand operational experience and academic expertise gives me a unique perspective on both the technical precision of military aviation and the profound human challenges faced by those who serve.
Writing has become a way for me to merge these two worlds, capturing the intensity of military flight operations while also exploring the personal struggles, sacrifices, and camaraderie that define military life.
Comanche!, my debut novel, is a testament to this approach—blending authentic aviation detail with the deep, emotional complexities of service members navigating both war and the personal battles that shape them.
